Glazed lava cladding for building facades

The glazed lava stone from Pyrolave is an excellent choice for cladding bespoke buildings. It offers the inherent strength of a stone combined with all the surface qualities associated with enamels. Glazed lava is frost resistant & impervious to rain. All our vivid glazes are UV stable & will not rot nor delaminate & are regarded as self cleaning during the climatic cycle. It can be used as an open jointed rain-screen system mechanically fixed (see our recommended fixing systems section) or as traditional jointed faience.

The blocks we extract at the quarry are typicaly rectangular & the majority of which yield slab sizes of approx 1200 x 700mm & so this is the most economical way of planning your scheme following naturally occurring sizes in rectangular shapes. Bigger blocks are quite rare & whilst they are available they cannot be considered for extreme quantities.
